The Herreshoff Collection

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new collection of Herreshoff luxury bags created in collaboration with Lotuff Leather and Burnside Brands.

This collaboration has resulted in a truly luxurious tote that reflects the timeless qualities, deep history, and legacy of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company brand and “The Golden Age of Sailing.”

Using highly skilled local leather artisans in Providence Rhode Island with three generations of experience producing bespoke luxury bags, each tote is individually created using a combination of the finest leather and cloth from retired sails used by yachts with distinguished pedigrees.

Incorporating sails powering yachts that navigated the oceans, as well as the inlets, and bays of Rhode Island where the iconic Herreshoff yachts were designed, built, and launched beginning in 1878, each bag is totally unique with its own individual story.

($75 from every bad donated to the Herreshoff Marine Museum)

As each bag is handmade, we respectfully require 14 days to build and ship.

 Inside the top of each bag, we will stamp the latitude/longitude / GPS location of the Herreshoff Marine Museum at One Burnside Street in Bristol Rhode Island” (41.663560 -71.272850) the original home of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company and the cradle of the iconic yachts that won eight straight Americas Cup a happy reminder of the origin of your treasured possession.

Send us your retired sails (we need at least 15 sq yards of sailcloth, can be several cuts) and we will remove any hardware, wash, cut and combine with your choice of leather at Lotuff Leather (ocean blue, naval blue or chocolate brown).

  We can personalize your bag with the following choices. (each option adds $50 to the cost of the bag).

1.  Add your burgee, flag, or private signal (we will create an embroidered patch about 3-inch sq and add to the front pocket).

2.  Add your sail number (up to three numerals) and will to the back side of the bag (3 in x 2in in black, blue or red).

3. Add the name of your yacht, captain, owner, guest or your favorite GPS co-ordinates in gold leaf on the inside top lip of the bag above the pocket.

$750 plus any personalization fees at the time of order 

As each bag is handmade, please allow 14 days to build and ship plus an additional 7 days for all personalization options.

 For the first 20 orders received, we will include, free of charge, either a luxury leather Herreshoff passport holder or luggage tag (valued at $120).
